28 Rajab, Day of the Fall of the Khilafah, Shield of the Ummah

بِسْمِ الله الرَّحمَنِ الرَحيم

O Muslims of Pakistan!
This Rajab, 1428 AH, you face unprecedented losses and trials. You count your dead and frantically search for your missing after the siege of Lal Masjid. Fear descends upon you due to the lack of security, and even your army and police forces are not safe in the descent into lawlessness. You face ever-increasing economic hardships and even your most beloved possession, Islam, is the target of a strong Western cultural campaign. The system of rule that has been imposed upon you has failed you, you despise your rulers and they despise you because of your loyalty to Islam.
In fact, this Rajab, not just in Pakistan, but throughout the Islamic Lands, the Muslims are counting their losses and suffering new trials. The kuffar have fallen upon you throughout the Islamic Lands, in Afghanistan, in Bosnia, in Chechnya, in East Timor, in Gujarat, in Kashmir, in Palestine, in Somalia and in Iraq to name but some. They have occupied your lands, slaughtered you in large numbers and dishonored your mothers, sisters and daughters. The kuffar have even lined up one after another to attack your deen, desecrating the Qur’an and defaming the Final Prophet to Humankind, RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم.
O Muslims of Pakistan!
In this difficult time, we make our call to you during the haram month of Rajab, the month of Isra’a and Miraj of RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم. Indeed, this glorious event is a lesson of hope for you all. For at a most difficult time for the believers, Allah سبحانه وتعالى honored RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم by carrying him صلى الله عليه وسلم from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid Al-Aqsa and then taking him صلى الله عليه وسلم up to the highest levels of heaven. Thus, Allah سبحانه وتعالى raised the status of the believers and gave them a sign that the time of victory was near.
Indeed, soon afterwards, Allah سبحانه وتعالى changed the situation of the believers. Islam was established as a state in Madinah, beginning a new age in which the Muslims carried Islam to humankind, opening new lands to Islam. Thereafter, the Khilafah shielded the Ummah for centuries, unifying them as a single state and implementing Islam over them. The Khilafah’s economy was a shining example for the entire world and there was even a time when there was none needy of Zakah. The Khilafah’s universities were the favored destination in the world for the princes and princesses of Europe. The Khilafah’s judiciary judged by all that Allah سبحانه وتعالى has revealed upon all of its citizens, regardless of their position or status. The Khilafah provided peace and security for the Muslims, allowing them to live in harmony together as a single state, regardless of their language or race. The Khilafah even provided sanctuary for those who were persecuted because of their beliefs. The Khilafah state was the leading state in the world for over a thousand years, its armies defending Muslims when they were attacked and opening new lands for the deen of Islam, including the lands of the Indian Subcontinent. And for hundreds of years of Islamic rule, before the British occupation, the Indian Subcontinent flourished in a manner unrivalled before or since by any kufr rule.
O Muslims of Pakistan!
This Rajab, we wish you to identify the exact reason for your losses and trials, so that your despair turns into hope, your grieving into productive actions. The single reason is the absence of Islam as a rule, as a Khilafah state.
For it was only after the fall of the Khilafah in Turkey, on 28 Rajab 1342, corresponding to 3 March 1924, that the kuffar who once cowered in fear before the Khilafah, now rejoiced as Mustafa Kamal established a secular state in its place. The British Foreign Secretary at the time, Lord Curzon, boasted in the British Parliament, “The point at issue is that Turkey has been destroyed and shall never rise again, because we have destroyed her spiritual power: the Caliphate (Khilafah) and Islam.” And it was only after the loss of your shield, the Khilafah, that the kuffar fell upon you in a way never seen before in the history of this Ummah.
It was only after the fall of the Khilafah on 28 Rajab, 86 years ago, that the influence of the kuffar colonialists now became firmly rooted throughout all of the Islamic Lands. The kuffar colonialists divided the lands of the Muslims, which have now been torn into over fifty pieces, and over each piece they appointed agent ruler in succession, whom they ordered and forbade and who in turn submitted to them completely until now.
It was only after the fall of the Khilafah that the kuffar colonialists granted the Jews a state upon the blessed lands of Palestine, the lands of the Isra and Mi’raj of RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم. They provided the Jews the means by which to maintain their occupation, which began with the neighboring agent rulers as guarantors of security. Furthermore, these rulers oversaw defeat at the hands of the Jews in every war that broke out, such that the Jews now acquired an air of invincibility, which they neither deserve nor previously had ever enjoyed.
And it was only after the fall of the Khilafah that the kuffar colonialists granted Hindu mushrikeen most of the Indian Subcontinent, even though the Muslims had liberated it from the oppression of Hindu rule and ruled it by the light of Islam for centuries. The colonialists further left Kashmir as a bleeding wound within the Islamic Ummah, by leaving Kashmir under Hindu authority, even though the majority of Kashmir’s population was Muslim. And in 1971, assisted by the Hindu mushrikeen, the Kafir colonialists oversaw a bloody division of Pakistan, which further divided and weakened the Muslims.
O Muslims of Pakistan!
It is a tragedy that you are weak before your enemies, continually counting your losses and facing new trials, even though Allah سبحانه وتعالى has blessed you with resources beyond those of the kuffar. The Islamic Ummah possesses lands and population beyond all of the major powers of today, including America. Indeed, Pakistan alone has approximately the combined land areas of both France and Britain and has the world's sixth largest population, larger than Russia, Britain and France. The Islamic Lands contain more than eighteen times more oil than the Western countries. The combined armed forces of Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Morocco are over three million, more than twenty times larger than the American forces in Iraq, who cower before unarmed civilians. Indeed, Pakistan alone has the seventh largest military in the world, larger than any of the Western European powers.
Without doubt, your weakness is not due to lack of resources, for you have been blessed by means that even the world’s major powers do not possess. The cause of your losses and trials is one reason and one reason alone, the absence of your shield, the Islamic Khilafah state. RasulAllah سلم و عليه الله صلى said,
إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ
“Indeed, the Imam (Khaleefah) is a shield, from behind whom you fight and by whom you are protected.” (Muslim)
So, remember this Rajab, 1428 AH, what you were deprived of. And let the realisation of that loss spur you to work for the re-establishment of the Khilafah.
O Muslims of Pakistan!
This Rajab, 1428AH, throughout the Islamic Lands, from Morocco to Indonesia, from Uzbekistan to Sudan, the youth of Hizb ut-Tahrir are mobilizing the Muslims to demand the immediate re-establishment of the Khilafah.
We call you to add your efforts to theirs, add your du’a to theirs, so that the work for the re-establishment of the Khilafah achieves its goal, by the permission of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Lord of the Worlds. We call you to take your share in the reward of the work to re-establish the Khilafah, whose return is promised by RasulAllah سلم و عليه الله صلى . RasulAllah سلم و عليه الله صلى declared,
ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ
“Then there will be Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood.” (Ahmed)

An advice to Muslims working in the financial sector

Assalam wa alaikum wa rahmatullah wabarakatahu, Dear Brothers & Sisters, We are saddened to see Muslims today even those who practise many of the rules of Islam are working in jobs which involve haram in the financial sector. They are working in positions which involve usurious (Riba) transactions, insurance, the stock market and the like. Even though many of the clear evidences regarding the severity of the sin of Riba are known, some have justified their job to themselves thinking that they are safe as long as they are not engaged in the actual action of taking or giving Riba. Brothers & Sisters, You should know that the majority of jobs in the financial sector, even the IT jobs in this area are haram (prohibited) as they involve the processing of prohibited contracts. If you work in this sector, do not justify your job to yourself because of the fear of losing your position or having to change your career, fear Allah as he should be feared and consider His law regard

Q&A: Age of separating children in the beds?

Question: Please explain the hukm regarding separation of children in their beds. At what age is separation an obligation upon the parents? Also can a parent sleep in the same bed as their child? Answer: 1- With regards to separating children in their beds, it is clear that the separation which is obligatory is when they reach the age of 7 and not since their birth. This is due to the hadith reported by Daarqutni and al-Hakim from the Messenger (saw) who said: When your children reach the age of 7 then separate their beds and when they reach 10 beat them if they do not pray their salah.’ This is also due to what has been narrated by al-Bazzar on the authority of Abi Rafi’ with the following wording: ‘We found in a sheet near the Messenger of Allah (saw) when he died on which the following was written: Separate the beds of the slave boys and girls and brothers and sisters of 7 years of age.’ The two hadiths are texts on the separation of children when they reach the age of 7. As for the

Q&A: Shari' rule on songs, music, singing & instruments?

The following is a draft translation from the book مسائل فقهية مختارة (Selected fiqhi [jurprudential] issues) by the Mujtahid, Sheikh Abu Iyas Mahmoud Abdul Latif al-Uweida (May Allah protect him) . Please refer to the original Arabic for exact meanings. Question: What is the Shari’ ruling in singing or listening to songs?  What is the hukm of using musical instruments and is its trade allowed? I request you to answer in detail with the evidences? Answer: The Imams ( Mujtahids ) and the jurists have differed on the issue of singing and they have varying opinions such as haraam (prohibited), Makruh (disliked) and Mubah (permissible), the ones who have prohibited it are from the ones who hold the opinion of prohibition of singing as a trade or profession, and a similar opinion has been transmitted from Imam Shafi’i, and from the ones who disliked it is Ahmad Ibn Hanbal who disliked the issue and categorised its performance under disliked acts, a similar opinion has been tran
