Gadaffi, another Pharaoh of this era has fallen, and all praise is to Allah

All Praises are due to Allah, who removed the tyrant Gaddafi from the face of the earth. Just as he accused those opposing his tyrannical rule as rats, he was found crawling in the sewer hiding from his fate. This was his end in this life, and in the hereafter what awaits him from the Promise of Allah is greater, inshahAllah.
Allahs (swt) says in the Quran

“Is he then, who will confront with his face the awful torment on the Day of Resurrection (as he who enters peacefully in Paradise)? And it will be said to the Oppressors: “Taste what you used to earn!” (24) Those before them belied, and so the torment came on them from directions they perceived not. (25) So Allâh made them to taste the disgrace in the present life, but greater is the torment of the Hereafter if they only knew!” (TMQ Az-Zumar, 24-6)
The crimes of this man are too long to list – but at the head of them was his denial of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Not only did he insist upon his lie when accounted by the sincere Muslims of this ummah, but he then proceeded to execute publicly those who stood against him, simply for holding onto Islam and denying his new ideology to be legitimate. They refused to accept him as their lord, and remained firm that their Lord was only Allah.
Throughout his reign he tortured and jailed all opposition, and his death reminds of us of the Martyrs who fell, whether due to torture, killing in the jails, assassination or public execution. Therefore this time is a time of celebration for the families of the martyrs, the Muslims in Libya, and the whole of the Muslim Ummah, that another of the tyrants fell beneath the tide of change that is sweeping the region. Just as the Pharaoh used to say “I am your Lord, Most High”, and was taken as an example by Allah as a warning to the rest of mankind, here lies Gaddafi in an icebox in Misrata on public show, another arrogant oppressor who was unable or unwilling to even pronounce the Shahada on his deathbed.
The Muslims across the Middle East, and in Syria came out to celebrate the event – and just as the Muslims in Libya too celebrated in Sirte– they also wrote on their trucks that Bashar al-Assad is next, and that Palestine awaits. Who will protect the oppressors, whether their name is Saleh, Assad, or Netanyahu,  when the Decision of Allah comes for them at the hands of the Ummah whose cry throughout these revolutions is Allahu Akbar and La Ilaha illa Allah?
Allah has told us in the Quran regarding the hypocrites and the disbelievers
“They fight not against you even together, except in fortified townships, or from behind walls. Their enmity among themselves is very great. You would think they were united, but their hearts are divided, That is because they are a people who understand not” (TMQ al-Hashr 14)
And again the Ummah has seen the duplicity of the West, who supported Ben Ali until the masses rose up, and then Mubarak, and then Gaddafi. How soon they abandoned their allies when they realised that their alliance would prove too costly, and how they may lose all their influence that they had been cultivating for so long. And so in this case Gaddafi fell with the aid of those who less than a year ago were co-operating with him against the very people who led the revolutionary army, with the CIA and MI5 collaborating with the Gaddafi regime against Islamic opposition up until the revolution. The Messenger of Allah has told us “The Believer does not get bitten from the same hole twice”. Years of abuse and support of the tyrants against the Ummah cannot be erased by any hypocritical turn of face – it is only Allah who took the fear from the hearts of the Ummah, and it is from Allah that all the victory comes.
And as this Ummah returns to life – we realise more and more that we are one ummah, we feel sad together, we struggle together, we celebrate together, and soon inshahAllah we will be together under the banner of Islam. Our future does not lie in adopting the Western ideas and ideologies that the tyrants used to impose upon us, but only upon adopting Islam in its entirety, and throwing behind the ideologies of secularism and nationalism in the trashcan of history along with the bodies of Gaddafi and his ilk.
“O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allâh, He will help you, and make your foothold firm. (7) But those who disbelieve, for them is destruction, and (Allâh) will make their deeds vain. (8)” (TMQ al-fath 7-8)

An advice to Muslims working in the financial sector

Assalam wa alaikum wa rahmatullah wabarakatahu, Dear Brothers & Sisters, We are saddened to see Muslims today even those who practise many of the rules of Islam are working in jobs which involve haram in the financial sector. They are working in positions which involve usurious (Riba) transactions, insurance, the stock market and the like. Even though many of the clear evidences regarding the severity of the sin of Riba are known, some have justified their job to themselves thinking that they are safe as long as they are not engaged in the actual action of taking or giving Riba. Brothers & Sisters, You should know that the majority of jobs in the financial sector, even the IT jobs in this area are haram (prohibited) as they involve the processing of prohibited contracts. If you work in this sector, do not justify your job to yourself because of the fear of losing your position or having to change your career, fear Allah as he should be feared and consider His law regard

Q&A: Age of separating children in the beds?

Question: Please explain the hukm regarding separation of children in their beds. At what age is separation an obligation upon the parents? Also can a parent sleep in the same bed as their child? Answer: 1- With regards to separating children in their beds, it is clear that the separation which is obligatory is when they reach the age of 7 and not since their birth. This is due to the hadith reported by Daarqutni and al-Hakim from the Messenger (saw) who said: When your children reach the age of 7 then separate their beds and when they reach 10 beat them if they do not pray their salah.’ This is also due to what has been narrated by al-Bazzar on the authority of Abi Rafi’ with the following wording: ‘We found in a sheet near the Messenger of Allah (saw) when he died on which the following was written: Separate the beds of the slave boys and girls and brothers and sisters of 7 years of age.’ The two hadiths are texts on the separation of children when they reach the age of 7. As for the

Q&A: Shari' rule on songs, music, singing & instruments?

The following is a draft translation from the book مسائل فقهية مختارة (Selected fiqhi [jurprudential] issues) by the Mujtahid, Sheikh Abu Iyas Mahmoud Abdul Latif al-Uweida (May Allah protect him) . Please refer to the original Arabic for exact meanings. Question: What is the Shari’ ruling in singing or listening to songs?  What is the hukm of using musical instruments and is its trade allowed? I request you to answer in detail with the evidences? Answer: The Imams ( Mujtahids ) and the jurists have differed on the issue of singing and they have varying opinions such as haraam (prohibited), Makruh (disliked) and Mubah (permissible), the ones who have prohibited it are from the ones who hold the opinion of prohibition of singing as a trade or profession, and a similar opinion has been transmitted from Imam Shafi’i, and from the ones who disliked it is Ahmad Ibn Hanbal who disliked the issue and categorised its performance under disliked acts, a similar opinion has been tran
