Types of Leadership [ English Translation]

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Types of leadership
There are three types of leadership in the dunya: innovative leadership, inspirational leadership and intelligent leadership, and there is no other leadership, because then it will not be leadership.

Intelligent Leadership:

It is like an intelligent man with an aware sensation, sufficient intellectual wealth and the use of this wealth as a tool that makes it keep pace with the events and go with the incidents at their level and it does not allow itself to come to them late. This is evident on normal days, but if it is hit by calamities, it becomes in need of making unusual efforts to keep hold of the issues, to carry on leading the passengers, and maintain the level of leadership as it is, unscathed.

Inspirational Leadership:
It is like a genius who is the first in everything, refusing to be at the level of the people, rather he is keen to remain their first and foremost. This inspiring leadership is in an exceptional class, refusing to be other than first in everything: in understanding, perception, perfection, seriousness, overcoming obstacles, carrying out the duties and undertaking actions, and other than that of what is present in its leadership. Then on top of that it has the ability to raise the fallen, to motivate the inactive, bring close what is far for the short-sighted, to clarify the vision for those whose eyes are blurred, to treat the sick and weary, and remove the dead from among the living. Alongside that it fills people's hearts with passion, their minds with vitality and thought, and their souls with confidence and satisfaction. Whether in the severity of crises or in normal circumstances, it carries on in its leadership without feeling the need to make an extraordinary effort or that the load has become heavy, because adversities are what energises the leadership and makes it feel the sweetness of its burden.

Innovative leadership:
It is like a unique genius man in a class of his own.  The genius is not satisfied to be the best of people at the forefront, but rather he brings new things that the people do not know, so he makes them go along with it. He does not master what they are on to be the best of them, but he changes what they are on and opens to them a new path or pushes them to go along it, even if in that there is hardship, fatigue, struggle and sacrifice. Just like this is the innovative leadership, which is not satisfied with the trends of public opinion, nor with what individuals of the people are on, so it does not think about taking leadership of them. It rises from the level of the people and looks behind the wall to supervise the society and sees the condition of the wall that they cannot see, and then works to change the condition of the people and change the direction of the public opinion, and then after that trying to take their leadership, even seeing their blood and money as cheap for the sake of the idea that they hold, let alone the hard work and suffering. Thus they take their leadership on the basis of struggle with lives and money with satisfaction and contentment. This is the innovative leadership, it does not lead people with their thoughts, but carries them to change their ideas, and it does not go with them in the way that they go, but makes them take the hardest route, and the most difficult path. On top of that, it makes the price of their travelling on this way the hardship, suffering, and struggling with lives generously with all of the money. Then it is not enough to walk in the crisis as it walks in prosperity without a difference between them, rather it instigates the problems and creates events and crises and ignite the fire in order to remain moving in difficulties, because most of its life is striving for the jihad, because they believe that the true life is only the life of Jihad.

Political thought is the highest type thought absolutely. It means the thinking that is related to taking care of the affairs of the people. The highest of it is the thought that is related to people and the world from a specific angle.
Politics requires being concerned for the reality with care and precision. So it needs to stay away from generalisation, and stay away from over simplification, and looking at the specific situations in relation to the reality. So a certain circumstance is not made analogy with another event, just because they are similar, as two events can be similar while there are many differences in reality.

Political thought, must have a political leadership in order to exist, as its existence in the books and the brains of scholars has no value and is not considered a real presence.

Political leadership: is the one that is aware of the political thought and somewhat innovative. Being innovative is one of its habitual attributes, and anyone who is characterized by this is called a statesman.

The Innovative Politician is the one that leads the state or society and is not driven by it.
The Political leadership or the statesman: does not ignore the reality, but is not subjected to it, rather he is trying to use it to walk with the society and the state towards that which he has planned in his mind.

The Innovative political leader: is he who imposes himself on his group and then on society; he is not elected in an election, but the election process merely makes apparent the one who imposes himself on others, and gives his leadership legitimacy.

The political leader in his dealings with those whom he lead must rely upon persuasion not coercion, but is firm and extremely tough on what is right and true.

The Innovative political leadership: is not an individual, but is many individuals, that is, the political leadership is innovative leaders, not a leader. These leaders and innovators radiate in them the values ​​that they believe distinguishing them with radiant heat and power. 

The Innovative leadership is only a leadership of the idea for the people or peoples to be convinced of, because the reality of the innovative leadership is that it leads the idea, so it leads the people to it, then they are led by it, so they take leadership of them.

The Innovative leadership: is not controlled by time or place, but it chooses the time and place. However, but the reality of the people obliges it with the type of activity, so it revolves around this reality, and it cannot go past it.

It is imperative for the innovative leadership to be a political leadership, and that actually operates in politics.

Politics is purely ideas that reflect the practical reality, and actions are the reality that expresses the ideas.

Politics is not the art of possibilities nor choosing the best of possibilities, but it is the influencing of the possibilities to convert them to the situation that we want, regardless of people's view of it, and regardless of it being easier or the hardest most difficult.

The Innovative Politician: Although he is of full certainty in his idea and method, he must constantly gather the causes of success, by constantly thinking about and undertaking actions and benefit from their experiences, and by attempting to do what he thinks will be productive. 

This is because the idea and the method are foundations that need styles and means, and these require many repeated attempts and numerous experiments, as inevitably there is the likelihood of error.

The Innovative Politician with his seeing beyond the wall, does not turn a blind eye to the wall itself, as although he leads the people to the situation that he wants them to, but he must lead them by looking at the situation where they are in; Therefore adopting the immediate partialities is a way to get to the change in society.

The Innovative Politician must have the following:

To have a deep understanding of the society, in terms of its thoughts and feelings, customs and public opinion, ... and seeing what is between him and the people of difference in what he sees and understands... and sensing all of that as though sensing any material thing.

An assessment of what is between the intellectual and political groups of differences, whether between the individuals of a  group, or between a group and another group.

To be precise in his expressions making them impossible to be mis-understood with what contradicts them, and making them at the same time impressive and influencing.

To be personified with associating with the masses, and longing to converse with the masses and talking to them, and to live more in the collective atmosphere and among the masses.

To persevere to contact the Ummah with whatever he meets in that of difficulties, and that he repeats attempting to contact them time and time again, and that is creative in the styles and means which enable him to contact them until it becomes easy for him; because the contact with the Ummah is the only way to success.
