Knowing the full hadith is also useful:

عَنْ أميرالمؤمنين أبي حفص عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رضي الله عنه قَال سمعتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم يقول:

{إِنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ وَإِنَّمَا كل امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى فَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَهِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ لِدُنْيَا يُصِيبُهَا أَوْ امْرَأَةٍ يَنكحها فَهِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى مَا هَاجَرَ إِلَيْه}

Upon the authority of The Ameer [leader] of the Muslims Aboo Hafs `Umar ibnul Khattaab رضي الله عن:
I heard the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم say:

"Actions are by intentions (niyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration (hijrah) was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated." [Al-Bukhari & Muslim]

This sentence contains hasr [a grammatical restriction]. The definition of hasr is: To affirm a ruling for the mentioned [thing] along with negating that same ruling from everything else besides it . This is what we benefit from the word: إِنَّمَا Inna maa. If you said: زيد قائم Zaidun Qaa’im [Zaid is standing]. There is no hasr in this statement. However if you said Innamaa Zaidun Qaa’im [Zaid is doing nothing except standing]. Now in this is hasr.

Also when the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said:
"And as for the one who migration was for the sake of the dunyaa, seeking [something] from it, or for the sake of a woman in order to marry her, then his migration is for [that thing] in whose sake he migrated for]

Is another example of balaaghah [Arabian eloquence, simply meaning: the sentence is well-spoken]. That is, he صلى الله عليه و سلم deliberately made no mention regarding the intent of one who migrated for the sake of the Dunyaa when he informed about his recompense.
