i have a question regarding a perso...Salam Brother<br /><br />i have a question regarding a person presenting himself for a position in authority ?<br /><br />there is a hadith which is as follows<br />Abdur-Rahman bin Samurah reported: The Messenger of Allah(SAW) said to me, "Do not ask for position of authority. If you are granted this position without asking for it, you will be helped (by Allah) in discharging its responsibilities; but if you are given it as a result of your request, you will be left alone as its captive. If you take an oath to do something and then find a better alternative, you should adopt the latter and expiate for your oath."..... Bukhari and Muslim<br /><br />and there is another hadith <br />Abu Musa Ashari reported: I called on the Prophet(SAW) with two of my cousins. One of them said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, appoint me governor of some land over which Allah has given you authority." The other also requested for something of the same nature. Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, " By Allah we do not appoint someone to this post who seeks it or someone who contends for it." Bukhari & Muslim<br /><br />this in its word and meaning is clear that any individual cannot contend for a post in authority until he is selected by the people on he being capable ....<br /><br />please do clarify this whether this applies for the khalifah or other ruling positions within the state <br />and what does these hadeeth mean<br /><br />may Allah (swt) keep you in good healthAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
