Lessons from the attempts at Revival

The following is the transcript of a talk delivered on this subject some years ago. The Prophet (saw) said in the hadith that I mentioned, "Aqidha watawakkal" “Tie the camel and trust in Allah”. He (saw) said this to a man who came to the him (saw). Many people take a misunderstanding from this narration, some say that: “We should do the action and then Trust in Allah” others say that “We should just Trust in Allah and there is no need to look at any thing else” They do not realise that this hadith contains two issues; one of advice and the other information concerning the aqeeda. This means that the first statement was concerning action i.e. looking after the means, the other is related to belief (Aqeeda). Indeed, both types of people have misunderstood a fundamental thought in Islam The one who thinks that we can only trust in Allah if we are prepared with the best technology is wrong; the reason for this is simple; to trust in Allah is part of the Muslim’s aqeeda; he must

Salahuddin established his pulpit in the al-Aqsa Mosque only after liberating it from the Crusaders

The following is the translation of an arabic leaflet. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Salahuddin established his pulpit in the al-Aqsa Mosque only after liberating it from the Crusaders. On the other hand the Muslim rulers do that today while al-Aqsa remains occupied. Salahuddin (may Allah have His mercy upon him) entered the al-Aqsa mosque after liberating it from the filth of the crusaders. He defeated them humiliatingly in Jihad under the banner of the Muslims’ leadership lasting for decades and was finally successful thanks to the Nusrah (help) of Allah (swt) at Hittin. He first defeated them on the 25th of Rabee’ al Akhir, 583 A.H and then on 27th of Rajab, 583 A.H he liberated the Bait al Maqdis. When the messenger of Salahuddin who was conferred as the officer of Egypt and al-Sham, brought the good news to al-Nasir, the Abbasid Khaleefah in Baghdad, the Muslims roared in jubilation, chanting the greatness and praise of Allah the all-powerful, praying Him to break the back of the crusade

Q&A: Length of the Jilbab?

The following is a translation from arabic. Question: In the book “Social System”, Third Edition, 1410AH in the chapter entitled, “Looking at Women” the author discusses the subject matter of what constitutes the dress of women in the public life. It is clear from the hadith of Umm Attiyah that wearing the Jilbaab is an obligation (Wajib) when she enters the public life and this is not the point of contention. The author uses the following ayah from Surah al-Ahzab to conclude that the Jilbaab is draped/drawn (yudneena) down to the floor until it conceals the feet: “.. to draw their cloaks (Jalabeeb) all over their bodies” [Al-Ahzab:59]In the explanation it mentions that the preposition min used here is not ‘partative’ (min al-tab’eed) but rather ‘explanatory’ (min al-bayaan). So they should drape their Jalabeebs down towards the floor. The question still remains: how is this used to conclude that the Jalabeeb must drape to the ground and not to the top of the feet? This is further cla

A call to the people of Palestine and to Hamas and Fatah in particular

The following is a translation of an arabic leaflet. O people of Palestine, O people of bayt al-maqdis and its surroundings, O people of the land of Isra’, of the first qiblah and the third to the two sacred mosques… O grandsons of the noble conquerors, O grandsons of the Faruq, Umar (ra), of the Trustworthy, Abu Ubaydah (ra), and of Khalid (ra) and Sharhabeel (ra)… O you whose land is mixed with the noble blood of the martyrs, such that no inch of it is free from the blood of a martyr or the dust of a mujahid’s horse… O all you who possess a heart, or a will to listen, and be witness: How do you fight your own sons, spilling their blood and killing them, whilst you do hear and see?! The ones who have been killed are you sons; their blood, wealth and honour are haram on you. The spilling of pure innocent blood is the worst of crimes. Hizb ut-Tahrir implores you to prevent your sons from spilling their blood, and you are, with the permission of Allah, capable of this, and to grab yo

Q&A: Is there an illah in the hukm of Jilbab?

The following is translated from Arabic. Question: Is the opinion regarding jilbaab qat'I because qardawi says 'Illah is modesty. Therefore, so as long as one is modestly attired jilbaab is not necessary? Answer: Wearing the jilbaab is a hukm shar’i. It is wajib. Its daleel is qat’I but the Fuqaha differed over the description of ‘Idnaa’ (draping) in the ayah: ‘..to draw (idnaa) their jilbaabs over their bodies.’ So the jilbaab is definitely mentioned in the ayah but with regards to ‘idnaa’ (drawing or draping): some said it means draping it from the top of the head to the face and some said draping down the jilbaab means to the floor such that it covers the feet. And this is the preponderant view for us. As for those who said the texts regarding wearing the jilbaab has a ‘illah which is modesty and what’s important is that the woman should be modestly attired whether with jilbab or not. This is wrong. This is because the texts regarding this issue do not have an ‘illah. So the

Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh issues its Islamic Manifesto

PR no: 02-06012007 Date: 06 Jan, 2007 Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh organized a press conference today (January 06, 2007) at the national pressvclub to present the party’s Islamic Manifesto. Chief Coordinator & Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh, Mohiuddin Ahmed said in his written statement that the current politics led by Awami League (AL) and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has brought chaos to the lives of the people and failed to achieve the aspirations of the people. The corrupt power politics of AL-BNP and their allies has not only neglected the people’s affairs and denied them their rights; they have also forsaken the sovereignty and security of the nation. Our economy is unable to progress due to the imperialist control and their exploitation of our national resources. The people of this country have been deceived and betrayed by the elected governments of the past 15 years. The time has come for the nation to reject the politics of benefit and looting and to establish
