The following is a useful resource received from a brother: As-salamu alaykum! The Islamic Revival framework was setup to build a long-lived repository to share, archive & search Islamic books, articles, documents, video summaries, etc. through a transparent and community-based contribution policy (similar to open source software) - we are a non-commercial, non-partisan, non-sectarian site.  The framework is powered by some of the latest technologies including ChatGPT 3 (Da Vinci model & Natural Language Processing for summarizing texts and audio), JavaScript VueJS 3 fronten for speed, Python 3 backend for data wrangling, AI transcription via Google’s YouTube v3 APIs, Microsoft’s GitHub for code & security tools, that combined enable a highly mature and advanced content generation, curation, delivery, hosting and searching experience. Please engage with us via this discussion board, and we welcome all contributions (see the guide here: https://islamicrevival.github.io/artic

‘Do not incline towards the oppressors’ – Explaining Surah Hūd 113

Oppression comes in various forms, some explicit and some more subtle. Allah has warned against any involvement – even implicit – in forms of oppression. With reference to an importance verse of Surah Hud, we need to understand what the parameters of such oppression may be in order to ensure we are not a party to oppression of any sort. By looking at the classical tafsir of this verse (Hud 113) br Shafiul Haq explores the parameters of potential contribution to oppression. Oppression is considered something very severe in Islam. There are repeated warnings in the Qur’an against committing any form of oppression. From a  hadith  of the Prophet, we come to know that Allah most definitely answers the  du’a  of the oppressed: Allah causes their supplications to rise above the clouds, and gates of heaven are opened for them, and Allah says, ‘By My Majesty, I will help you, even if it is after a while.’ [ Tirmidhi ] Yet, today we live in a world where oppression is so widespread th

Tafseer Al-Baqara: 62 | Sheikh 'Ata Abu Al-Rashtah

Extract from the book 'At-Tayseer Fee Usool At-Tafseer' written by the Ameer of Hizb ut Tahrir, Sheikh Ata Ibn Khalil Abu Al-Rashtah. Contributed translation by a brother May Allah Ta’Aalaa reward him with goodness. (62) (62) Those with Imaan, those who are Jews, and the Christians and Sabaeans, all who have Imaan in Allah and the Last Day and act rightly, will have their reward with their Lord. They will feel no fear and will know no sorrow. The one who scrutinises this verse cannot but become humble before Allah (سبحانه), as he grasps completely that this is Allah’s speech (سبحانه) and the great miracle of Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم). This verse explains a promise from Allah – جل ثناؤه – to all humans with their differing deens, with a condition. فَلَهُمْ
