The following is a translation from Arabic. 10/4/2007 Press Statement Political security in the Ab province Sheikh Saqr Abdul Qader al-Shuwaitir is arrested On Saturday 7th April, 2007 C.E security officials in civilian attires raided the al-Nahdhah School in the province of Ab and detained Mr. Saqr Abdul Qader Abdullah al-Shuwaitir, aged 35, married and father of 4 children, who is a teacher in the same school. He has been arrested without a warrant from either a court or the provincial authorities. His only ‘crime’ is that he distributed leaflets criticising the treacherous Riyadh Conference where the traitors of this Ummah had gathered in Riyadh on 28th & 29th March, 2007. The following is a translation from Arabic. As regards the issue of putting trust on (at-tawakkul ‘ala) Allah (swt), the first Muslims understood that very well, and they put their full trust on Allah (swt). Therefore, they performed the great tasks, and plunged themselves in the severest difficulties. This is different to the Muslims who came after them, particularly when the material dominated the souls, and the Muslims were afflicted with the short vision and weak understanding. So, they became alienated from the true tawakkul, which became futile words that has no reality in their life and nor in their mind. What encouraged on that is that the thought of the scholars focused on explaining the tawakkul as being taking the means. So, once the word of tawakkul was mentioned it immediately meant the noble hadeeth: ‘tie it and make tawakkul’ (narrated by at-Tirmidhi). Question: Someone said that the daleel used by those who call for the re-establishment of the Khilafah is incorrect. More precisely, he was referring to the establishment of political parties based on Surah Al-Imran (ayaah 103). He told me that in Tafsir Qurtubi, Tabari and ibn Kathir it is said that the people who make up this party can only be mujtahid (or ulema, I dont remember exactly which one) and mujahid and no one else.
