Post Ramadhan worship

Alhamdulilah the month of Ramadhan has completed for another year, and we move on to the month of Shawaal. The previous month saw the Mosques full of people worshipping Allah (SWT) in the day and night, millions of Muslims the world over sacrificed their time and energy to seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT), praying the Taraweeh Salaat, doing Itikaaf, making Umrah whilst fasting all the while. Ramadhan is a month of great blessing, and a time when all Muslims openly enjoin in the good deeds, however, the good deeds need not stop at the end of Ramadhan. Islam is a Universal religion and ideology, with all rules for all people. Its absence in implementation in society though has led to the prevalence of non- Islamic pproaches to deal with the Muslims conduct. Consequently the Muslim community and countries are affected by various concepts that dilute Islam. One of these is the compartmentalisation of Islam to certain time periods. Hence in Ramadhan many people openly practice the rules of ...

Uproot Musharraf, defender of the American Raj

بِسْمِ الله الرَّحمَنِ الرَحيم O Muslims of the armed forces in Pakistan! Uproot Musharraf, defender of the American Raj O Muslims of the armed forces! Allah سبحانه وتعالى says, إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ عَلاَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهْلَهَا شِيَعًا يَسْتَضْعِفُ طَائِفَةً مِنْهُمْ يُذَبِّحُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيِ نِسَاءَهُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنْ الْمُفْسِدِينَ “Verily, Fir’aun exalted himself in the land and divided its people into sects, weakening a group amongst them, killing their sons and letting their females live. Verily, he was of the mufsidun.” [Surah al-Qassas 28:3] During Ramadhan, the month of victory for Muslims, Pervez Musharraf ordered you to intensify the fight against your fellow Muslims in the tribal areas, whose only crime is to resist the brutal American occupation of Afghanistan. Villages within the tribal areas, containing men, women and children, were bombed. Indeed, hundreds of Muslims have been killed or injured. Pure Muslim blood in large amounts was shed, when a each...

The Orientalist Attack

The following is from the recently published book 'Introduction to the Systems of Islam' : The situation of Muslims today lies in stark contrast with their glorious past. It is important for us to understand how and why such a state of affairs has arisen. Indeed this is a key to our revival. To this end, it becomes necessary to study carefully the history of Islam, from the time of the Prophet’s (saw) State and the period of Islamic civilisation and influence that followed it, until today, in order that we may identify the main factors of our weakness. The result of such a study shows that the main factor is a gradual intellectual decline in the minds of the Muslims with regards to their understanding of their deen. In this background, the enemies of Islam were able to exploit the oppportunity presented to them in their battle against the Islamic State, and utilised all the means at their disposal to overcome it and subjugate it and all its resources to their control. In this s...

Open Letter to Musharraf, the President of Pakistan

بِسْمِ الله الرَّحمَنِ الرَحيم Open Letter from Hizb ut-Tahrir to Musharraf, the President of Pakistan Peace be upon those who tread the path of guidance, Mr. President, We have decided to send you this letter on the occasion of the holding of Presidential elections. We convey our advice to you following the example of RasulAllah سلم و عليه الله صلى, who advised several leaders of the Qur'aish while fully aware of the fact that they will neither heed guidance nor follow the true deen. This action of RasulAllah سلم و عليه الله صلى was in accordance with the command of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا اللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا قَالُوا مَعْذِرَةً إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ [ [الأعراف:164 “And when a community among them said: "Why do you preach to a people whom Allah is about to destroy or to punish with a severe torment?" (The preachers) said: "In order to be free from guilt before your Lord (Allah), and perhaps ...

What is going on in Myanmar (Burma)?

What sparked the recent crisis? On 15 August the government decided to increase the price of fuel. Both petrol and diesel doubled in price, while the cost of compressed gas - used to power buses - increased five-fold. The hikes hit Burma's people hard, forcing up the price of public transport and triggering a knock-on effect for staples such as rice and cooking oil. Pro-democracy activists led the initial demonstrations in Burma's main city, Rangoon. When about 400 people marched on 19 August, it was the largest demonstration in the military-ruled nation for several years. The authorities moved swiftly to quell the protests, rapidly arresting dozens of activists. Demonstrations were held in Rangoon, Sittwe and other towns. What is the History of Burma? The Union of Burma was created in 1948, as an independent republic, with Sao Shwe Thaik as its first President and U Nu as its first Prime Minister. A bicameral parliament was formed, consisting of a Chamber of Deputies and a Cha...

US policies are a double-edged sword

In an interview to a private satellite channel reported today, Gen. Musharraf openly confessed US involvement in the ongoing negotiations with Benazir Bhutto to secure a political deal with Pakistan Peoples Party. He also talked about political reconciliation with all opposition parties including Nawaz Sharif in order to build consensus to fight the so-called menus of terrorism and extremism. He declared terrorism and extremism as Pakistan’s biggest problems and reiterated his resolve to eliminate them in the core interest of Pakistan. It is the same Musharraf who eight years ago, while capturing the reigns of power, lamented his political predecessors as corrupt and evil. He even amended the constitution to bar his two rivals from taking the office of the Prime Minister for the third time. But now the media is once again reporting that the government is mulling a “Nation Reconciliation Ordinance” to accommodate the return of Benazir Bhutto by granting her amnesty against criminal ...
