Electing someone to rule by Kufr

Sahl b. Sa’d as-Saa’idi (ra) who said that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Islam began as something strange, and it shall return to being something strange, so give glad tidings to the strangers.” It was asked, "Who are those strangers, O Messenger of Allah?" Clarifying the issue of Taqleed

Taqleed Taqleed linguistically is following others without scrutiny. It is said 'he imitated him in such and such' i.e. he followed him without scrutiny or examination. Legally, Taqleed is acting according to the statements of others without a binding proof or argument, such as the layman's adoption of the opinion of a Mujtahid. Or the Mujtahid's adoption of the opinion of someone of the same stature as him. Taqleed is forbidden in Aqeeda Taqleed (imitation) in the 'Aqeeda (creed) is not allowed because Allah (swt) has censured the Muqallids (imitators) in 'Aqeeda. This is a censure for imitation in belief and not in the adoption of the Shari'ah rules. This is because the subject matter of the verses concerns belief. Its text is specific to the subject of belief and they have no 'illah (reason). He (swt) said: “When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah has sent down." They say: "Nay! We shall follow what we found our fathers following.&q
