Darfur requires an Islamic Solution, not more Colonialism

The ongoing crisis in Darfur, Sudan, has received much coverage in the media in recent weeks. Significantly it has been the focus of attention for many Western politicians, particularly George Bush and Tony Blair , a focus perhaps only second to Iraq when it comes to foreign affairs. The coverage presented has reported that the ruling 'Islamic' government has helped arm Arab militias, the Janjaweed, which the government has been using to attack the native 'African Black' populations in Darfur as it seeks to suppress these people. The US government has gone as far as calling the actions 'genocide' on the part of the Sudanese government. Certainly it is true that fighting is taking place in Darfur. In fact many aid agencies estimate that hundreds of thousands may have been killed, with estimates varying from 50,000 up to half a million, with up to another 2.5 million people being displaced. Yet much of the media and more importantly, many Western politicians, hav

The tragedy in the foreign policy of Turkey

The following is a translation from Arabic. On November 25th, Erdogan left for Jordan and the opening session of the third meeting of the Future Forum, met the Jordan king Abdullah and his Prime Minister al-Bakhit. Erdogan who has been Charge de Affairs of the Greater Middle East Project held talks with the King on Iraq and exchanged views on how to save the United States from the imbroglio in Iraq. On November 26th during the session of the Arab leadership held in the Dead Sea region of Jordan, Erdogan called upon his audience to affect changes desired by America and went a step further and called for ‘Conciliation of Civilisations’ which aims to remove the preeminent position of Islam and bring it on par with other religions and affect suitable distortions in it. He also called upon the World Peace Plan for the 21st century. He called for all these knowing full well that the West presupposes that Islam is to be blamed for giving birth to and the nurturing of terrorism and terrorists.

The danger of Baker-Hamilton document on Iraq

The following is a translation from Arabic. The Baker-Hamilton Commission Report is a mobilisation of the agents of America to rescue her from Iraq, and a revitalisation of the ‘New Middle East’ project. On the 6 December 2006 the Baker-Hamilton Commission published its report entitled “The Way Forward – A New Approach”. The most prominent amongst its proposals were three: 1. What the report referred to as ‘the comprehensive New Diplomatic Offensive to deal with the problems of Iraq’ and that with the establishment of an ‘International Support Group’ to stabilise Iraq, with this group leading the diplomatic offensive. The report held that this group should be made up of all the states bordering Iraq: Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordon, Kuwait, Syria and Iran, and other key regional states such as Egypt and the Gulf States and possibly other states as well. However the report focused on Iran and Syria more than the other states, saying: “…the United States should engage directly with Iran and

Q&A: Sending children to schools where Kufr is taught?

The following is a translation from Arabic. Question: Can we send our children to a Kafir school in the West or the Muslim lands if we know that Kufr beliefs and thoughts are promoted as part of their curriculum, under the pretext of seeking knowledge in various disciplines? Can it be said that it is forbidden for a Kafir to teach our Muslim children as they are Kuffar and do not share the same ‘aqeedah as us, hence the issue being the children being taught by a Kafir and not in relation to what the curriculum teaches? Answer: There are general texts regarding seeking knowledge. He (saw) said: ‘Seek knowledge’. This is general (‘aam) and includes all types of knowledge. So it is allowed for the Muslim to learn any discipline/science but if these sciences lead to a harm (Darar) then learning such sciences would be forbidden and the other sciences would remain permitted in accordance with the Shari’ah principle which states: ‘If any aspect of a permitted thing leads to a harm, then tha

Q&A: Are credit cards allowed?

The following is a draft translation from Arabic. Question: Is it permissable to use Credit cards? Answer: Credit cards are of different types: In one of its types, the card holder would have a certain amount of money in the bank that issues such card (debit card). The card holder would then make purchase by using the card such that he does not go beyond the amount of money he has in his account in the issuer bank, from participating trade shops that exist in several countries. The card holder would buy from these shops without making (direct) payments. He rather presents the card and sign bills by the value of his purchased goods/services. He then transfers the shop to receive the value of the purchased goods/services from his account in the bank that issued the card. In other words, the bank would pay to the shop the value of the purchased goods/services from the account of the purchaser that holds the card. This type of

Musharraf Attempts To Resuscitate The Kashmir Plan By Abandoning Its Claim To The Territory

Dec 07, 2006 By Abid Mustafa On December 5, 2006 speaking before Indian TV channel, Musharraf said that Pakistan was prepared to give up its claim to Kashmir, if India and Pakistan agree on the four-point solution (a solution in which boundaries are not changed and India does not have to give up any territory). When pressed on Kashmiri Independence, Musharraf reasserted his objection. He said," Yes, we are against independence." This is not the first time Musharraf has floated the idea of abandoning Pakistan's longstanding claim to Kashmir. On November 18, 2003 Musharraf said, "We are for the United Nations Security Council resolution, whatever that stands for. However, now we have left that aside. We keep saying that if we want to resolve this issue both sides need to talk with each other with flexibility... coming beyond stated positions... coming and meeting half way somewhere." Since then Musharraf has been working tirelessly to implement the Kashmir plan dra
