بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ Question:  Kindly give us an overview about the political reality of Myanmar (Burma) and the reasons for the terrible persecution of Muslims there, as well as the regional and international stances towards it, with thanks and appreciation. Answer:  Below is an overview of what is necessary regarding this issue. 1- The population of this country is more than 50 million, including around 20% Muslims who are concentrated in the capital city of Rangoon, the city of Mandalay and the province of Arakan. 70% of the inhabitants are Buddhists and the rest embrace Hinduism, Christianity and other religions. Burma, however, recognizes only a tiny 4% of the Muslims and considers the remaining Muslims as foreigners. Consequently, it works to expel them and neither grants them the country's nationality nor does it recognizes any rights for them. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Syrian opposition conference in Cairo: Paving the way for the Geneva Conference and a roadblock for the loyal people of Syria (Translated) On 2nd and 3rd July 2012 a conference was held in Cairo, made up of the secular orientated, unpopular Syrian external opposition, shortly after the Geneva International Conference held on 30/6/2012, which addressed the Syrian issue and laid down an American solution to it. (It was said that the details of the solution depend on the Egyptian model). The opposition conference was meant to be a supplement to the Geneva Conference. So, its stated aim was to develop a common vision for the post-Bashar-regime stage, such that its decisions are consistent with the decisions of the Geneva Conference.
