The Sacrifices of the Noble Scholars of India: the Revolution That Wasn’t

The Sacrifices of the Noble Scholars of India: the Revolution That Wasn’t In the year 1857, one of the most important uprisings in world history took place. This is classified as one of the most important because it was against the British and in their biggest and most important colony – India. If successful, it could have emboldened colonised people everywhere and inspired them to revolt against the then burgeoning and colossal British Empire. As it is, it has gone down in history as one of the most important and spectacular FAILED uprisings. Tired of the British colonial rule and oppression; the people from various parts of India rose up against the colonialists. The rebellion started when sepoys (soldiers) employed by the British East India Company revolted after continued discrimination, including forcing acts upon them that contradicted their religious beliefs. This was the case for both Muslim and Hindu sepoys. However the rebellion quickly spread to other people, includ

Wrangling at the Geneva 2 conference and the future of Ash-Shaam

Wrangling at the Geneva 2 conference and the future of Ash-Shaam The Geneva 2 conference has raised the stature of the Syrian regime and despite being engaged in the most brutal crimes against the Syrian people that have included every imaginable evil against the whole people including their children, women and elderly they have been presented as equal partners in these negotiations. This current conference ended without any results or resolutions and was reported by news agencies to have ended in argument and sharp disagreement whilst Lakhdar Ibrahimi said that the talks were planned to resume on February the 10 th . This indicates that the US and all those who support the unified position which has clearly established the aim of preserving the regime whilst bringing in some new faces from the supposed opposition, it indicates that they are not in a rush to see these negotiations come to a quick resolution. This is clear by the relaxed attitude of the Syrian regime which is s

PART 2: Excerpts from the Prison Memoirs and the Honor of Companionship with Sheikh Ata Abu al-Rashtah

PART 2: Excerpts from the Prison Memoirs and the Honor of Companionship with the Ameer of Hizb ut Tahrir, the eminent scholar, Sheikh Ata bin Khalil Abu al-Rashtah Al-Waie Magazine received some of the memoirs of the respected brother, Salim al-Amr. We are publishing some of them, for in them is a lesson and benefit, insha'Allah, for those who take heed. We extend our recognition and appreciation to Brother Salim for these poignant and expressive memoirs, and we ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى to grant what came in their end, and that He keeps him safe from all evil. Prison Memoirs and the Honor of Companionship (6) I used to ask Abu Yasin (Sheikh 'Ata) about the cause of the shiver which afflicted his side when he used to lead us in prayer. I found out that it was the result of torture he underwent in the prisons of the intelligence agencies in Jordan, Libya and Iraq - electric shocks and other forms of torture. I recall him telling me that the Shabab would be tortured in t

Q&A: Does the Punishment in this World Expiate the Sin on the Day of Resurrection?

Question: It is known that in Islam if a person disobeys Allah and the Khaleefah applies upon him a legal punishment (Hadd, Qisas or Ta'azir), the sin will be lifted from him on the Day of Resurrection. The question here is: Today, as we succumb to the secular oppressive rule and living in Dar al-Kufr (the land of disbelief), if a person sins and is punished by a punishment issued by the man-made law. Such as if he kills he is killed or if he steals he is imprisoned, knowing that the punishment of theft, is the cutting of the hand. If this is the case would this punishment expiate the burden of this sin on the Day of Resurrection?? May Allah reward you and us and all Muslims with goodness) ended. From Sameh Raihan Abu Maisara Answer: This is true if it is a legitimate punishment from an Islamic state, i.e. a state that rules by the Allah's laws, and not by man-made laws. The explanation of that is as follow: - Muslim reported that Ubada bin As-Samit said: the

Q&A: Custom Duties in the Islamic State

Question: Assalamu Alaikum, it was mentioned in the book, The System of Islam, that the State collected the necessary funds for its expenditures according to the Shari'ah, it was also mentioned that it collects customs duties in its capacity as the supervisor over domestic and foreign trade. So to what extent is this compatible with your attack to the tariffs policy of today, in reference to the Hadith of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم «لا يدخل الجنة صاحب مكس» "The tax-collector will not enter Paradise"  ? And does domestic trade mean that the state imposes tariffs on trade made between the Wilayat of the Islamic State itself? From Sameh Rayhan Abu Maysara Answer: Wa Alaikum Assalam Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh - The hadith of Al-Maks (imposing customs duties/tax), was narrated by Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak by the two Sahih, and he said about it  "Hadith Sahih according to Muslim and they did not narrate it"  its text is: Narrated Uqbah ibn Am

Tafseer Al-Baqara: 6-7 | Sheikh 'Ata Abu Al-Rashtah

Extract from the book 'At-Tayseer Fee Usool At-Tafseer' written by the Ameer of Hizb ut Tahrir, Sheikh Ata Ibn Khalil Abu Al-Rashtah. 7 . 6. “Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe. 7. Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment.” After Allah had explained in the previous verses that the book is from Allah in truth and that there is no doubt in it, and after He (سبحانه) explained the status of those who are guided by it and have taqwa, that they are from the successful ones. Then He (سبحانه) explained in these two verses the situation of those who reject; that warning does not benefit them, as Allah has sealed
