The tragedy in the foreign policy of Turkey

The following is a translation from Arabic.

On November 25th, Erdogan left for Jordan and the opening session of the third meeting of the Future Forum, met the Jordan king Abdullah and his Prime Minister al-Bakhit. Erdogan who has been Charge de Affairs of the Greater Middle East Project held talks with the King on Iraq and exchanged views on how to save the United States from the imbroglio in Iraq.

On November 26th during the session of the Arab leadership held in the Dead Sea region of Jordan, Erdogan called upon his audience to affect changes desired by America and went a step further and called for ‘Conciliation of Civilisations’ which aims to remove the preeminent position of Islam and bring it on par with other religions and affect suitable distortions in it. He also called upon the World Peace Plan for the 21st century. He called for all these knowing full well that the West presupposes that Islam is to be blamed for giving birth to and the nurturing of terrorism and terrorists. Also well known is the enmity that the west has for Islam and its culture. This has been made clear by the statements of its leaders and media persons. In a book written by English journalist ‘Tony B’, published a few years back, he says: “There are only two ways, and no third way exists in which you can deal with the danger that Islam poses: Either you surrender and submit to this danger; or you finish of Islam once and for all!” This is how the west has decided to deal with Islam since many decades and is planning to achieve that. The ‘Reconciliation of Civilisations’ that Erdogan calls for is nothing but a tool from the western planners in this direction of destroying of Islam.

On November 27th, Abdullah Gul, the foreign Minister left to participate in the ministerial meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU for European-Mediterranean Partnership or EUROMED in Finland. Despite his statement after meeting his Finnish counterpart that the talks were positive and that Finland’s plan for Cyprus was considered and Finland’s views on Cyprus match Turkey’s views. Immediately after that the Finnish Foreign Minister announced that there are no changes in Finland’s position on Cyprus and it was for Turkey to accept them as they are! This was an embarrassment and humiliation for the Turkish Foreign Minister who pretended ignorance of the host country’s position while still in Finland!

On November 29th again Erdogan was put in an awkward situation, this time though even more embarrassing when the European official recommendations were issued that recommended freezing of eight out of a total of thirty-five sections until the Cyprus conflict is resolved. This in other words means that if Turkey will not be allowed to enter the European Union until it recognizes Cyprus as a Greek country. This will push the Turkish-Cypriot issue back as a dead matter. Thus Erdogan’s dream could not be fulfilled which he had felt when on November 28th 2006 the Pope had expressed his desire that: “We hope that Turkey will enter the European Union”. At this point Erdogan was all smiles but the official recommendations of the EUROMED shattered that dream. Erdogan had criticized the statements coming out of secretive Turkey and said that the way to the EU is similar to a railway track: “This poses no danger, and the train shall keep moving, even if slowly.” Meanwhile the spokesman of the Cyprus government clarified on November 30th: “If the official Euromed recommendations are not implemented, we will then use our right to veto”, which means that the Greek Cypriots will block any new developments and this shattered Erdogan’s dreams. As if this was not enough, the President who had issued the official recommendations in the first place threatened: “It is upon Turkey to demonstrate its earnestness to comply with the requirements and its responsibilities placed on it by the EU”.

On November 29th, after the foreign minister’s visit was postponed to 7th & 8th December instead of 2nd December, it was postponed again indefinitely as the foreign minister of Greece, Dora Bakwani will be visiting New York for the emergency meeting of the United Nations on Middle East, which again has been delayed to 12th December on a request from the Secretary General. What prompted the Greek Prime Minister’s office to then invite the Turkish Foreign minister to Athens on December 7th & 8th? In the diplomatic parlance it is nothing but making Turkey as a laughing stock!

Despite all these, the delegated member of the EU Raine who announced the official recommendations, stated at a press conference: “Turkey can try for other secondary goals”. With this he has actually humiliated the Turkish rulers who insist that the ‘train has not crashed’, and that ‘reforms (America’s) shall continue’. After that on December 1st, the Finnish President Matti Vanhanen in his capacity as the current EU president arrived in Ankara and tickled the feelings of the Turkish rulers and left. The French Interior minister Nicola Sirkozy, who is a prime ministerial candidate, again refused to allow Turkey in the EU. He merely recommended some privileges to Turkey, nothing more than that.

Before that on November 28th, Erdogan along with Defence minister Vecdi Gönül and foreign minister Abdullah Gul visited the Latvian capital of Riga to participate in the NATO summit to exchange warm greetings with Bush & Blair, the occupiers of Afghanistan and Iraq and shared his observations on his visit to Jordan. It is worth pointing that the summit studied three important issues i.e. Afghanistan, alternate military arrangements and comprehensive political planning.

As for the Afghanistan issue, Erdogan promised to send in an additional 300 soldiers to Afghanistan. Before that the Commander of the NATO forces in Europe James Jones had asked the member countries to reinforce the shortfall in the NATO forces, and the NATO secretary general Jaap de Hoop Scheffer had also made a similar request. This means Turkey will continue to fight side by side of the Kuffar against the Mujahideen in Afghanistan.

As for the alternate military arrangements, the member countries of NATO had announced that a rapid action force (N.R.F) under NATO that aims to intervene in troubled spots of the world is now ‘ready to undertake its missions’. This force was carved out in 2004 CE with some 6000 soldiers drawn from army and naval forces as an efficient unit capable of reaching its destination and get into action with in 15 to 20 days to any region in the world that poses challenge to NATO. The military unit of this N.R.F has been deputed to Turkey from the beginning of 2007 for a period of six months to train the Turkish armed forces and form a Turkish force of 3000 soldiers under the NATO command. In other words will have the nominal command of the Crusader forces. It has accepted the role of fighting Islam & Muslims as an inseparable part of this N.R.F around the world against ‘new challenges’ for the west. The clear truth is that they will never find ‘new challenges’ anywhere in the world except in the Muslim world!

The comprehensive political planning is a document binding all the NATO members to secure its strategies and strengths. Although it was supposed to be disbanded just as the Warsaw Pact was disbanded, which was formed by the erstwhile Soviet Union. But it has continued its military presence for the western countries under effective American leadership and political, military and financial support of its agent rulers in the Muslim countries to crush and suppress any uprising against the Capitalistic ideology and also against any resistance that moves against the occupiers. Inspite of this, Turkey shamelessly announced that it is an inseparable part of this alliance!

The gist of the Turkish foreign policy being practiced by Erdogan and his foreign minister, and his talks on the regional and international level through out the week, again demonstrates that the Turkish rulers have no relation whatsoever with the problems, hopes, aspirations and ‘Aqaid (beliefs) of the Muslims of Turkey or those outside. They are only concerned with implementing the agenda of their Kuffar colonialist masters, and to clear the image of their country in the eyes of the west, and to squander their country’s military resources for their personal gains, using their influence and authority given to them by the Muslims in elections and now they are thrust upon the people. In addition, the Kafir colonialists also continuously support them. In the past it was said that the rulers work in the interest of the west to protect their own office; while that is true, what we see now is that however today we see the brokerage of the agent rulers has reached to the extent that they do not observe the upcoming elections and are insincere to their seats and sincere to their masters. These traitor rulers are faithful to their masters and cannot stand to face any aggressor! How sad it is that it is not just the rulers of Turkey who are agents of America, but also those in Pakistan, Egypt, Iraq and Afghanistan etc.

But these Kafir colonialists cannot continue forever to mislead the people and create mischief on earth. The stench of mischief, which the Kuffar and their agents seek to spread in the world, and the entire world has come to a position and in need, more than ever, of a new system that will spread justice and peace and light of guidance in every corner. There is no doubt that the ideology of Islam alone is capable of achieving such a reality. We therefore call upon all the Muslims to work with the Hizb that has its loyalty to the Deen and the Ummah to establish the state of Khilafah al Rashidah that will spread the light of guidance by Da’wah (invitation) and Jihad in the world. If we do not rise and work for this cause, then our fate will be of the cursed:

"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection. He will say: ‘O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before).’ (Allah) will say: ‘Like this, Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allah's Mercy)."
