'fast when u sight the moon and break your fast when u sight the moon'
and
'Allah-hu-akabar, one sighting is enough for all Muslims' are clear in their indication that the month should begin and end on the same day for all Muslims.
But I have come across some peolpe who claim that there are other authentic hadith which state - (1) that if the sky is clear then make sure that a group of people witness the sighting and (2)that follow your local masjid when it comes to starting and finishing your month.
I would be very grateful if you could pls shed some light on this matter - jizak'Allah khair, WS Your Br. Naseer.
We've not seen any authentic hadith regarding that apart from ones which are unrelated to the topic, e.g. when the sahaba witnessed the splitting of the moon by the Prophet.
